Bound by a commitment to inspiring beautiful, well-designed homes, Southern Living partnered with Reynolds Landing to create the Linger Longer Collection, an exclusive portfolio of 16 cottage getaways that capture the best of retreat living in the South.

Reynolds Plantation features miles of beautiful lakefront property along Lake Oconee, Georgia's second largest lake. Inspiration for the cottages came from the natural beauty and active lifestyle of the community. The cottages are "casual, 'lakey' homes for the purpose of building family memories over generations," says Kristen Payne, Director of the Southern Living Homes Group.

Two prominent architecture firms, Caldwell-Cline Architects and Designers and John Tee, Architect lent their creativity and expertise to the cottages. Memorable design elements speak specifically to lakeside living. Outdoor storage, adjacent to the front door, stores items such as bicycles, fishing equipment and golf clubs. Open floor plans make the homes feel larger while still maintaining the cottage look. Spacious porches function as outdoor rooms.
